SOCIAL DIALOGUE AND WORKER PARTICIPATION IN THE DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF WORKPLACE MEASURES TO PREVENT RISKS STEMMING FROM THE USE OF DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES  

The aim of the article is to provide a review of examples of social dialogue and worker participation in the design and implementation of digital technologies in the workplace. Particular attention will be paid to algorithmic monitoring and management technologies. Within this research the following tasks will be carried out:

  • Conduct a thorough review of both academic and grey literature on the topic.
  • Identify and describe the adoption of digital technologies, in particular worker monitoring and algorithmic management technologies, for workplace activities based on social dialogue and involving worker participation in specific contexts/industries in order to ensure safe and healthy digital workplaces.
  • Carry out interviews to collect relevant information and data, including information on the drivers and barriers to implement social dialogue and worker participation, and collect the views of the relevant stakeholders to complement the literature findings.
  • Formulate conclusions and a set of policy pointers targeting both policy-makers, social partners and OSH authorities.
