Description

MAPPING FUNCTIONING OF SOCIAL DIALOGUE AT NATIONAL LEVEL – APPLYING KEY DIMENSIONS

The current Eurofound four-year programme (2017-2020) commits Eurofound to examine the dynamics of industrial relations and to analyse, in a comparative way, how industrial relations systems are changing and adapting to new challenges. The purpose is to allow better understanding and comparisons, leading to mutual learning and the identifications of areas where support could be helpful. In 2016 Eurofound defined a conceptual framework of industrial relations, defining four key dimensions: industrial democracy, industrial competitiveness, social justice and quality of work and employment. In 2017, a dashboard of 45 indicators was developed to map the industrial relations systems at the national level. This study aims to continue this line of work. The objectives are 1) to fine-tune the list of indicators selected under the previous Eurofound project by trying to fill the conceptual gaps; 2) to compute a composite indicator for each dimension as well as an overall composite indicator for the system of industrial relations.
