The FOSTER project is entering its final phase with a participatory workshop to validate the Alto Palancia Climate Change Adaptation Plan
On July 14th, a participatory workshop was held in Teresa (Alto Palancia, Valencian Community) to validate the Alto Palancia Climate Change Adaptation Plan.
Twenty-two people participated, including representatives from the municipalities, the Alto Palancia Association of Municipalities, the Valencian Community Environmental Education Center, the Castellón Provincial Council, NGOs, civil society organizations, and local businesses.
The workshop agenda included a presentation of the results obtained to date (the Plan’s projects), the participatory validation and improvement of projects proposed in previous workshops, and the creation of a monitoring system. Two presentations of climate change adaptation projects already implemented in Alto Palancia were also given:
– “The Carbon Footprint as a Starting Point for Climate Action” – Valencian Community Environmental Education Center.
– – “Adopt a River – AUR Palancia: A Collaborative Governance Model” – AEMS, RIVERS WITH LIFE.
The workshop was based on the results of the participatory event held in the town of El Toro in May. As a result of that workshop, 12 projects were identified as local solutions for climate change adaptation in four areas (Agriculture and Livestock, Forests, Water, and Health). These projects have now been completed, improved, and validated.
The Alto Palancia Climate Change Adaptation Plan is the result of participatory work carried out by the FOSTER Project (Future Oriented Solutions for Environmental Resilience), funded by the European Union’s CERV Programme.
