First scientific meeting of the TWING project 

On the 15th and 16th July, the first scientific meeting of the TWING project was held at the NOVA University of Lisbon. The meeting was attended by members from the five partners involved in the project (Forba, Praxis, Notus, University of Kyväskylä and ISP) and the advisory board (Maurizio Curtarelli – EU-OSHA, Ricardo Rodríguez – Eurofound and Óscar Molina – Autonomous University of Barcelona). In the two sessions, the results of the documentary and statistical research were presented and discussed, and the methodology for the fieldwork was debated.

On the 15th July, the session began with a brief welcome by Nuno Boavida. Subsequently, Pablo Sanz presented the purpose of the scientific meeting and the status of the actual work. Next, Ricardo Rodríguez (Eurofound) and Maurizio Curtarelli (EU-OSHA) presented research on telework carried out by Eurofound and EU-OSHA, respectivelly. Finally, the outcomes of the desk research for each country were presented and discussed. Nuno Boavida presented the results for Portugal; Martí Fernández for Spain; Kirsti Melesk for 

for Austria, and Sanna Saksela-Bergholm for Finland. Afterwards, Kirstin Melesk presented the results of the statistical analysis. In both presentations, the results were jointly discussed with all the team. Next, Pablo Sanz presented the preliminary comparative results, which were also discussed. Then, he explained the research objectives and methodology for the next phases of the project. Finally, the session ended with discussion of specific research questions and objectives for each country, aimed at enriching the design and adaptation of fieldwork to the different national realities, and some comments from the advisory board (Oscar Molina, Ricardo Rodríguez and Maurizio Curtarelli) regarding the methodology to be applied.

Currently, the project partners are carrying out the fieldwork, based on the suggestions and workplan agreed in the first scientific meeting.
