Description

THE IMPACT OF GLOBALISATION ON VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING. CASE STUDY: SPAIN, SEAT APPRENTICE SCHOOL

This project carries out a case study of the SEAT Apprentice School on the impact of globalization on vocational training. Personal interviews have been conducted with the school’s managers, teachers and students, as well as with other institutions related to the vocational training system in Catalonia that have intervened in their relationship with the Apprentice School.

The case of SEAT presents a special interest as it is a pioneer in the application of dual vocational training in Spain and shows how the technological and organizational changes and innovations in the production process of the automotive company have led to the introduction of a reform of its apprenticeship program to adapt it to the skills and professional competencies needs of the company.
