Presentation of Reus socioeconomic development and employment strategy

On June 16 took place in the Auditorium of Reus the presentation of the final document of the Socioeconomic Development and Employment Strategy of Reus. The event was attended by the Mayor of Reus, Carles Pellicer; the Deputy Mayor, Noemí Llauradó; the director of the Labor Office of Reus, Araceli Terzan; and the councilor for Enterprise and Employment, Carles Prats.

One of the main aims of the Strategy is to reduce inequalities in the labor market at the local level. The diagnosis carried out has been the basis on which to design, properly, these policies since it has allowed to identify and characterize, in a rigorous way, the groups most affected by unemployment, as well as the training needs and the demands of professionals of the companies of the city and the territory. This Strategy is planned for the period 2021 to 2030, but will have biannual action plans. The first action plan will run from 2021 to 2023.

It should be noted that both the validation of the diagnosis and the co-design of the 32 actions that form part of the first action plan are the result of participatory work with different stakeholders in the municipality through the Spaces of Collective Action. These Spaces have been developing since 2018 and have been promoted by the City Council of Reus through the Department of Enterprise and Employment and with the collaboration of the Municipal Institute of Training and Enterprise of Reus-Mas Carandell.Notus collaborated in the dynamization of the Spaces of Collective Action developed during the month of September 2020. As a result of the participatory work carried out, 5 strategic projects were defined, which gave rise to this Strategy. Subsequently, Notus has provided technical assistance to finish the elaboration of the Socioeconomic Development and Employment Strategy of Reus, design its governance bodies and draft its Action Plan 2021-2023 due to the realization of several workshops where different stakeholders of the territory could participate. Thus, the Strategy is the result of a participatory process, in which Notus has collaborated, which has defined the future of employment, labor inclusion and economic activity in the city.
