STRATEGIES FOR IMPROVING OF THE QUALITY OF EMPLOYMENT

The objective of the project is to promote the quality of employment in the municipality through a number of actions aimed at generating a favourable position of local public opinion towards the improvement of the lower wages of workers. Several internal actions from the council itself are foreseen to take advantage of its capacity to purchase goods and services to promote that workers of the contracting companies obtain wage improvements above the minimum interprofessional wage. There is the aim to promote an institutional declaration in collaboration with social and economic agents who share the same objectives and a local media campaign to promote the joint declaration. An added objective is to carry out several pilot actions to improve the requalification of the long-term unemployed and preventive actions to improve the standard of living of the most vulnerable families especially in housing and social care, in collaboration with social services.
