Exchange of experiences of the REDERA+ project in Germany
The fifth of the joint learning events of the RedEra+ project “Revitalization and entrepreneurship for deprived European rural areas”, a project funded by the European Erasmus + programme, was held on 8, 9 and 10 September. The event, organised by the ABU (Germany), was the first one that could be held in person. During these days, the project partners were able to learn from four experiences that are being developed in the Uckermark region, one of the most sparsely populated areas in Germany. This region borders Poland.
During the visit were presented:
- Aktive Naturschule Templin. It is a school for children from 2 to 18 years old located in the municipality of Templin. The school offers a teaching method that is closely linked to nature and generates strong community links between the school and the families of the pupils.
- Qregio. A project that promotes local organic products. It is a cheesery that also makes ice cream and has grown and created a warehouse that acts as a logistics centre. From the logistics centre they can sell and distribute their products and those of other local producers, mainly organic.
- Weinscheune Kraatz. Initiative of a rural entrepreneur in the village of Kraatz, which is mainly dedicated to the production of apple wine. He is one of the few wine producers in the region. Gradually, the initiative has grown by renovating old houses and creating a restaurant that prepares all its dishes with local products.
- Joachimsthalisches Gymnasium Templin. This is a European School that is being built in Templin. It involves the restoration of old buildings and therefore the enhancement of this cultural heritage. The school is expected to open in 2024 and will be able to accommodate 300 pupils, some of them boarders.
The event was attended by all the partners of the project led by the Viceconsejería de Empleo y Relaciones Laborales de la Junta de Comunidades de Castilla la Mancha. The next event will take place during the month of November and will be the responsibility of the Junta de Comunidades de Castilla la Mancha.
