INTEGRATED DEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR THE ÁREA OF INFLUENCE OF THE COFRENTES NUCLEAR POWER PLANT

This Plan will analyze the current impact of the Cofrentes Nuclear Power Plant on the socio-economic development of Ayora – Cofrentes Valley, will formulate different scenarios derived from its closure and will identify challenges and opportunities for development, as a prior step for the formulation of a model development and a plan to move towards it.

But, beyond the preparation of the Plan, the proposal seeks to implement a participatory, flexible and sustainable process over time that allows the territory to define its development model and actively participate in the design, implementation, monitoring and adaptation of the actions to make it happen.

For this, a socio-economic study of the territory will be carried out and the strategies adopted in other territories with similar situations will be studied. The development model will be established through surveys and interviews with territorial agents and working groups will be launched to define the action lines.
