Notus took part in the “The Power of Work in the Age of Algorithms” conference.

As part of an event organised by the Ministry of Labour and Social Economy, Maria Caprile, Notus’s research director, took part in a panel discussion on promoting fair and high-quality remote working.

On 4 and 5 March, the conference entitled tituladas “El poder del trabajo en tiempo de algoritmos” took place, an initiative organised by the Ministry of Labour and Social Economy. The event served as a forum for reflection on the challenges that digitalisation and algorithmic management pose for decent employment today.

Analysis of the impact of teleworking

The programme included an analysis of the impact of teleworking, beginning with a presentation of the study ‘Map of Teleworking in Spain’ by Arturo Lahera, a professor at the Complutense University of Madrid, in a session entitled ‘The Teleworking We Want’. This presentation formed the basis for subsequent discussions about the current state of this working model in Spain.

After the technical presentation, a round-table discussion titled ‘Beyond the Screen: The Remote Working We Want’ was held, moderated by Susana Abad, Deputy Director of New Forms of Employment and Labour Market Forecasting. The discussion featured the following participants:

  • Gloria Álvarez, lecturer at Carlos III University.
  • Óscar Pérez, lecturer at Comillas University.
  • Maria Caprile, Research Director at Notus.

Well-being, equality and collective bargaining

The discussion focused on promoting a fair and high-quality remote working model. During the exchange of views, critical issues for the future of industrial relations were addressed, such as:

  • The impact of remote working on workers’ well-being and health;
  • The dimension of gender equality in access to, and conditions of, teleworking.
  • The essential role of collective bargaining as a regulatory tool in the workplace to guarantee labour rights in digital environments.

By participating in this discussion, Notus is reinforcing its commitment to applied social research and the analysis of new realities in the labour market. The company is also actively contributing to the debate on public policy and labour rights in Spain.
