E-GRUiEN project starts with kick-off meeting in Finland

On 3 and 4 March 2025, the University of Jyväskylä (Finland) hosted the kick-off meeting of the E-GRUiEN project, of which Notus is a partner. The project is funded by the European Commission through the Horizon programme. This project brings together an international consortium of academic institutions and research centres to address the challenges of social dialogue in the context of the green transition and digital work.

During two intensive days, the project partners discussed the management of the project, the first steps in the implementation of the different work packages and the theoretical and methodological bases that will guide the research. Key concepts such as creative destruction, collective bargaining theory and its link to technological change, as well as the role of algorithms, digital platforms and remote work in new labour dynamics were explored. In addition, the impact of the ecological transition on industrial relations and the representation of interests outside the traditional scope of collective bargaining were discussed.

In the methodological field, approaches such as historical case studies and interview protocols were reviewed, which will be used to analyse transformations in bargaining and social dialogue models.

The meeting was a key opportunity to align objectives, strengthen cooperation between partners and lay the basis for this project that aims to generate a significant impact in the field of industrial relations and digital transformation.
