The Diputació de Valencia and the Mancomunitat present the new Economic Development Plan for the Hoya de Bunyol-Chiva, prepared by Notus

The new Economic Development Plan for the Hoya de Bunyol-Chiva is a strategic roadmap that has been promoted by the Diputació de València’s Sustainable Territorial Development department and the Mancomunitat. It will guide the development of the territory until 2030. The document was publicly presented on 4 February at the Mancomunitat de la Hoya de Bunyol-Chiva headquarters.

The event brought together institutional representatives, technical staff, and socio-economic stakeholders from the region. It provided an opportunity to share the main conclusions and lines of action of the Plan, which are the result of an analysis and participation process.

This strategic instrument aims to strengthen territorial competitiveness, promote economic diversification, and encourage the sustainable and inclusive development of the Hoya de Buñol-Chiva region.

The analysis highlights the region’s significant assets, particularly in the industrial and logistics sectors, while identifying structural challenges related to innovation, supra-municipal cooperation, and adaptation to ecological and demographic transitions.

The areas with the greatest potential for promotion include the agri-food industry, logistics associated with the A-3 corridor, sustainable forest management, renewable energies, low-impact tourism, and services related to an ageing population.

Notus provided technical assistance and a participatory approach.

Notus provided comprehensive technical assistance for preparing the Plan, applying its territorial strategic planning methodology, which is based on:

  • Socioeconomic and territorial analysis
  • Review of statistical sources
  • Fieldwork and interviews
  • Revitalisation of participatory spaces

This approach has enabled the development of a shared strategy with local stakeholders and the definition of a coherent set of objectives, lines of action and priority projects.

The Plan also incorporates a monitoring and governance system aimed at facilitating its effective implementation and alignment with provincial, regional, state and European financing frameworks.

Commitment to territorial development

Through this project, Notus strengthens its position in strategic planning, local economic development, and territorial collaboration, supporting public administrations and local stakeholders in developing evidence-based, results-oriented strategies.
