The FOSTER project continues its participatory workshops to promote climate change resilience in Alto Palancia

The FOSTER project began its local program in Alto Palancia (Castellón) last March with an initial workshop on “Anticipatory Strategies and Participatory Democracy” aimed at representatives of the region’s municipalities, associations, cooperatives, local action groups, businesses, and citizens. In May, a second workshop identified the challenges and needs for addressing climate change in the region. A third, in July, will address participatory scenario building, a preliminary step toward co-creating solutions.

Over the coming months, notus, together with the Alto Palancia Community, will coordinate the participatory design of a Citizen Plan for climate change adaptation in the Alto Palancia region based on these two principles:

1️⃣ Anticipatory approach

2️⃣ Participatory democracy

The FOSTER project is funded by the European Union’s Citizenship, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) Programme. It involves partners from nine countries (including NOTUS), led by alda* – European Association for Local Democracy, who are developing six local resilience pathways in six European territories.
