Founding member and director of research at Notus.
As a sociologist he has combined teaching and research in training and employment since the beginning of his professional career. His university training in business studies (ESADE), sociology (University Paris VIII and University Complutense de Madrid) and law (University of Barcelona) provides a multidisciplinary approach.
In 1989 he founded the Centre d’Iniciatives i Recerques Europees the Mediterranean (CIREM) and was its director until 2013, leading numerous international applied studies both in Europe and in the Mediterranean and Latin America in the areas of work, training and social policies. One of his recent publications is the La Caixa Foundation’s 2008 “Vocational training in Spain. Towards the Knowledge Society”. He has been president of the Catalan Association of Sociology, of the Institute of Catalan Studies (2004-2009), member Center for Opinion Studies (CEO) of Catalonia and director of the journal “Tools” on training and employment.
